Do I need an internet connection to use the app?
No. Modern iChing is designed to work completely offline. You can perform consultations and access your journal anytime, anywhere, without needing an internet connection.
Where is my journal data stored?
Your privacy is our top priority. All of your journal entries, questions, and notes are stored securely and privately on your device. This data never leaves your phone unless you choose to back it up.
How do I back up my journal?
You can optionally back up your journal data using your personal iCloud or Google Drive account. This is a user-initiated action within the app's settings to ensure you never lose your personal insights, even if you change devices.
Will you add more features in the future?
Yes! This is just the beginning. We are passionate about creating a space for quiet reflection and plan to add new features like guided meditations in future updates.

Your privacy is fundamentally important to us. Modern iChing is designed to be a private, personal space for reflection. Our Privacy Policy is simple because our approach to your data is simple: it's yours, not ours.
Data Collection
Modern iChing **does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data**. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking tools. We have no way of seeing your journal entries, your consultation history, or any personal notes you add to the app.
Data Storage
All data you create in the app, including your consultation results and journal entries, is stored **exclusively on your local device**. This data is not sent to any server and is not accessible by us or any third party.
Cloud Backups
The app provides an optional feature to back up your journal data to your personal cloud service (such as Apple iCloud or Google Drive). This process is entirely user-initiated and controlled by you. The connection is made directly and securely between your device and your cloud account. We do not have access to your cloud account or the data you store there.
Permissions
Modern iChing does not require any special permissions to function.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this policy, we will notify users through an update on this page. However, our core commitment to your privacy will not change. We built this app to be a private sanctuary, and we intend to keep it that way.
